Analysis of Evolved Shape Dual-Band 2×1 Microstrip Patch Array Antenna on Different Substrate and Size

An evolved dual-band 2×1 Microstrip Patch Array Antennas are designed with rectangular slot defected ground structure. The proposed antennas are used with two different substrates FR4 and RT Duroid 5880 and third one is the same shape with the half size of substrate and shape of the proposed antenna ( A1 or A2). The dimensions of the proposed antennas (A1, A2) and A3 are taken as (50×40×1.6) mm

and (25×20×1.6) mm

respectively. The proposed antenna- A1 resonate at 3 GHz and 17 GHz with the corresponding peak gain 2.76 dBi and 5.55 dBi and impedance bandwidth of 42.14% & 24.71% respectively. The proposed antenna- A2 resonate at 4 GHz and 7 GHz with the corresponding peak gain 4.26 dBi and 5.52 dBi and impedance bandwidth of 30.77 % & 21.58% respectively. The proposed antenna- A3 resonate at 5 GHz and 10 GHz with the corresponding peak gain 1.05 dBi and 1.50 dBi and impedance bandwidth of 7.84% & 10.84 % respectively. The applicability of all three proposed antenna depends on their resonance frequency, they are useful for S, C, X, K and Ku-band and for next generation IOT devices and WLAN/Wi-Max for smart home applications. The designed has been simulated by HFSS v.13.0.
