Evaluation of Impulse Generator circuit using Matlab Simulink

In this paper, an overview of both single stage and multistage impulse voltage generator is given. This paper consists of the simulation of both single stage and multistage impulse voltage generator by using Matlab Simulink. Simulation is preferred over experimental testing because it makes analysis easier, efficient and free from risk. Attempts are made to evaluate the effect of variation of the charging resistances on the impulse voltage wave with the help of Simulink, an extension of Matlab, to get the standard values of wavefront time and wave tail time. Also the effect of increasing the number of stages on the impulse voltage wave, efficiency and voltage regulation has been observed.
