Electric Bus Charging Station’s Location and Capacity Based on Routes and Grid AP Clustering Algorithm

The development of electric vehicles begins with the electrification of buses. The construction of bus charging facilities is a guarantee for the electrification of buses. In order to solve the optimal layout of the bus charging station, the map is divided into grids. According to the power supply load margin, station size and other information, different weights are set for the ends of stations of existing bus routes and depots. This paper uses the AP clustering algorithm (Affinity propagation Clustering Algorithm) to obtain the area of the optimal charging station location, and then the appropriate charging station location is selected according to the site conditions of the grid area. Finally, according to the actual bus route demand, the charging is determined Station capacity. The results show that the model optimizes the distribution of urban bus charging system, suppresses the fluctuation of charging load, and cope with the actual the problem of battery life in the actual operation of electric buses effectively. The method proposed in this paper has achieved good results in practical application in Fengxian area, Shanghai, China.
