Two-Axis Fluxgate Magnetometer with a New Principle of Excitation

The paper is concerned with the analysis of the possibility of making use of magnetoelectric effect and the effect of magnetoelastic interaction to control electrodynamic processes in magnetically ordered structures. The research group considered the main mechanisms of physical field influence on the dynamic rearrangement of the domain structure. A new principle of structure excitation of the material of the sensing element of a fluxgate magnetometer was established; this new principle makes use of the initiation of the magnetoelectric effect under the influence of the alternating electric field. The paper describes one variant of design of a two-axis fluxgate magnetometer with a new principle of excitation and interpretation of the main physical processes arising during implementation of its operating conditions. The structure flowchart of the two-axis magnetometer and its performance features in the mode of a field meter were considered. The developed fluxgate magnetometer makes it possible to design sensitive and accurate measuring systems of components of geological environment; these measuring systems are aimed at solving a number of engineering problems during shallow exploration.
