Low-Cost Water and Energy Efficient Futuristic Irrigation System Using IBM Watson with Bayesian Analysis

In an irrigation method, a mineral-water balance must be quite balanced for higher productivity. Crops with nutrient deficiencies are more prone or vulnerable to the crop diseases that lead to the death of the plants. Also, overwatered plants cannot stand during the dry season. This paper suggests developing a smart micro-controller-based irrigation system that can monitor crop health, water requirements and any intrusion detection using crop data analysis based on Bayesian analysis hosted on IBM Watson cloud platform. This paper suggests the remedy that is taken whenever the soil moisture level goes down below the threshold level; the water pump gets automatically activated. This system senses the moisture content of the soil in a given explicit space along with the autosense capability of determining soil requirements (water, mineral) and protect them from climatic disaster as well as intrusion detection with real-time notification and protect them from climatic disaster as well as intrusion detection with realtime notification.
