The Rise of RISC-V from Edge to Cloud

RISC-V has brought great impact to SoC industry in 5 years. It’s not only embedded in MCU or edge SoC with one or two instances, but also adopted by datacenter Al accelerators and Cloud SoC with over a thousand of instances. As a founding member of RISC-V Foundation, the most established CPU 1P vendor and one of the most active members, Andes is a good epitome of RISC-V. In this talk, we will examine the RISC-V phenomenon, its latest status and its potential. Then, we will introduce Andes RISC-V solutions, and look into technologies, which attract SoC designers to RISC-V, such as solid processor 1P’s, powerful tool for custom instructions, and feature-rich development environment.
