Mid Infrared Heralded Single Photons on a Silicon Chip

Despite the large interest in developing mid infrared quantum photonics, an integrated source of single photons beyond 2 μm is still missing. Here, we demonstrate the first mid infrared heralded single photon source based on silicon photonics.
