Smart Hybrid AC-DC Distribution System for Solar Electric House: Case of an Air Conditioner System

This article presents an overview on the systems of electric distribution within residential buildings including a photovoltaic source of energy (PV) besides the energy of the network, with the aim of showing the efficiency of a distribution with direct current (DC) with regard to a distribution with alternating current (AC). It also proposes a system of hybrid distribution which combines both types of source of energy to know the network of 220V-AC and the PV system of 48V-DC. Domestic appliances used in this system are modified so that they could be adapted to the need by means of a system of intelligent control. For that purpose, the case of an air conditioner has been handled, in which the classic engines have been replaced by direct current Brushless's engines.
