The z-transform is an important tool that proves useful in the development of mixed-signal systems, such as DR modulators, digital phase-locked loops, and equalizers. As analog designers, we have an intuitive understanding of the Fourier and Laplace transforms. In this article, we extend our intuition to the z-transform as well.
