An Improved Maximum Power Point Tracking Scheme Without Memory Unit

A Maximum power point tracking technique without memory unit has been demonstrated in this paper. Existing constant voltage (CV) MPPT scheme has inherent limitation due to its insensitivity to irradiance and temperature. The adaptive reference voltage (ARV) scheme is a modified version of CV MPPT, where both temperature and irradiance are sensed for improved tracking. This scheme requires two sensors for irradiance and temperature with requirement of larger memory capacity resulting in increased cost of the overall system. The proposed MPPT is implemented for 0.26 KW PV panel without memory unit under varying irradiation at constant temperature shown satisfactory results.
