The Circular Array PASI Algorithm Based on Array Translation

Based on the iteration of array data which is derived from the subarray, the pilot-aided subarray iterative (PASI) algorithm estimates the Direction of Arrival (DOA) using the pilot signals. While existing PASI algorithms can handle situations of multiple signal sources and multipath precisely and accurately, application in DOA estimation with circular arrays is beyond their capabilities. Considering this case, this paper proposes a circular PASI algorithm based on array translation and discusses influencing factors with simulation respectively. Simulation results show that situations of multiple signal sources and multipath can be handled well with estimation performances positively correlated with array aperture and the number of snapshots.
