Analysis of Vocal Characteristics of Risso's Dolphins Based on Speech Signal Processing

Sound is an important method for marine mammal's activity and communication. The sound signals of marine mammals contain a lot of information and theirs character parameters become a key basis for the recognition and protection of marine mammals [1]. In this paper, some features of Risso's dolphin acoustic signals are extracted, includes: duration, pitch frequency and resonance peak etc. A Risso's Dolphin's Acoustic Feature Database was built by these features. By comparing and analyzing the acoustic data of Risso's dolphins, we find that: The frequency domain characteristics of different types of audio signals have some differences, and these differences accord with the corresponding behavioral characteristics of Risso's dolphin.
