Research on the optimization strategy of phased array radar multi-area search performance

In most cases, large phased array radars need to search multiple airspace to complete specified tasks. Aiming at the problem that the tracking task occupies the total radar resources and results in the search performance degradation of each airspace, a combined optimization strategy is proposed, which is decomposed into two sub-problems: single-space search parameter adjustment problem and multi-area energy allocation problem. For the first problem, considering the beam broadening effect in the process of scanning and the need for timely adjustment in the search space, a search performance optimization model with the airspace coverage coefficient as the optimization function is established, and three strategies, ASB, AOA and ASBAOA, are given. For the second problem, the weighted airspace coverage coefficient is used as the optimization function to establish the allocation model and two allocation strategies, PAS and AAS, are given. The simulation results show that the performance of ASBAOA and AAS are the best.
