Arduino-compatible microcontroller module for electronics practices and environmental monitoring

Arduino boards are very useful for teaching electronics and programming in vocational training, but their massive use can discourage the learning of hardware development techniques by students. Our proposal consists of an Arduino-compatible microcontroller board designed at IES Escolas Proval of Nigrán (Spain) that can be assembled by the students and is the basis for new projects that combine hardware and software. During last years we have made different applications like robotic prototypes or remote controls and it is planned a new sensors module for the automatic weather station of the high school and other environmental applications.
