Influence of spring constant and electromagnetic damping coefficient on measurement performance in a checkweigher with force balance system using Voice Coil Actuator

As the fourth industrial revolution emerged in the manufacturing industry, the importance of automation of various measurement systems is emphasized. In particular, a weight checker with high speed and good accuracy among the various methods of weighing becomes important. There are two types of checkweighers: load cell types and electromagnetic force compensation(EMFC) types. EMFC has higher accuracy but slower speed than the load cell type. In this paper, a simple mck modeling is performed for the Voice Coil Actuator(VCA) balance type checkweigher in EMFC. Determine the desired spring coefficient and proceed with system identification considering the effect of the electromagnetic damping coefficient generated by VCA.
