Slicing for interweaved layers: Optimising traversal of 3D printer nozzle

Printing high resolution model can be a time consuming process because as the resolution is increased and number of layers required increases, increasing the path the printer nozzle needs to travel and the increasing the time to print the model. This paper presents a method of generating a detailed section of the wall of a model when slicing a model by generating interweaving layers that allows the model to print one section of the models walls at twice the resolution of the rest of the model, without an equivalent increase in print time.
