Quasi-stationary Modeling of Unregulated Electric Power System Components

The modeling approach based on Equations for Quasi-Stationary Modes (EQSM) has been further developed for the fragment of the unregulated electric power system (EPS) to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed reduction technique. Generalized problem consideration based on Park equations set, written for the simple grid fragment with a nodal interconnection and complex load, has been appended with reduced EQSM model, representing the low frequency electromechanical oscillations in the case. The applicability of the approach is demonstrated in terms of comparative analysis and perceptual advantages of the reduced model proved: EPS stability assessment problem would be substantially softened due to the lower order of differential system. The model is applicable for tackling stability problem of wide area systems in a real-time basis, providing the MicroGrid concept deployment.
