Interplanetary Spacecraft Control Methods and Algorithms for Large Cargo Delivery

The article discusses the methods and algorithms for controlling a promising large interplanetary spacecraft (SC), designed to deliver large-sized cargo to the planets of the solar system. The main attention is paid to the maneuvering process for the spacecraft to withdraw beyond the Earth's orbit. After launching such a spacecraft into orbit, it is necessary to reorient it to large angles several times. The aim of the research is to develop optimal control laws in terms of minimizing the flow of the working fluid by electric rocket ion engines. When designing a spacecraft automatic control system for maneuvering, one should take into account the presence of controlled massive non-rigid solar batteries and heat dissipation elements, which are generated by a powerful power plant. The desire to minimize the weight of the spacecraft leads to significant elastic deformation during maneuvering and to subsequent slowly damping elastic oscillations. A robust vibration damping algorithm is proposed that takes into account the uncertainty of closely spaced natural frequencies. Recommendations are given on the synthesis of an adaptive oscillation damping system with natural frequencies of uncertainty. The results of the study are confirmed by simulation.
