Abstract:

Microgrid concept has been widely accepted in the field of electrical engineering with the rapid evolution of electricity consumption. Microgrids are an alternative option within a distributed generation system which can offer both reliability and efficiency. The distribution of DC power can be more effective in the environment than AC power distribution due to various advantages. It provides the horizontal infrastructure to integrate distributed generation and loads. Due to its significant benefits such as reduced losses and less conversion stages, nowadays, DC MGs have been attracting growing attention. However if any line outage or generator outage occurs in DC microgrid then the system power loss and voltage profile changes. The voltage profile and system power loss are the two most important factors to show the performance of a system. This paper presents the contingency analysis of low voltage DC MG. This study presents the value of voltage and slack bus power which is responsible for providing the total system loss in different outage conditions. The Modeling of the proposed model is done in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
