Tunable Chiral Metamaterial for Polarization Control in Microwave Region

Spectral characteristics of chiral metamaterials based on an array of propeller-like double helices are studied. A possibility of large optical activity in resonators with C4 symmetry is shown. A new type of dynamically controllable chiral structure based on vanadium dioxide is proposed. The investigated devices are promising for polarization converters, filters and modulators.
