Research on Multi-physics of Plasma Torch Based on COMSOL

According to ohmic heating principle, inductively coupled thermal plasma torch relies on electromagnetic field generated by RF current of external toroidal coil to penetrate gas in torch so that plasma can be motivated and maintained, where the maximum temperature can reach from 10000 to 11000K. Based on previous simulation models, electromagnetic field calculation domain is expanded to air region outside plasma discharge region in this paper, and COMSOL software is used for multi-physics coupling calculations so that magnetic vector potential distribution, temperature distribution, and velocity distribution of plasma are obtained, whose physical mechanism is analyzed as well.
