A novel energy efficiency evaluation method in the ethylene production

It's significant to evaluate the energy efficiency of ethylene production in the chemical factory to improve the production process and make production decisions. Essentially, it is noticed that the energy efficiency model is the foundation of the evaluation. Considering the requirements of universality and practicability, the data-driven method is widely applied to describe the relationship. However, due to the characteristics of the actual industrial data, the traditional evaluation method may show poor resolution when the used variables are redundant and ambiguous. Therefore, a new energy efficiency evaluation method on the basis of the improved principal component analysis is put forward to calculate the energy efficiency values accurately. By noise term elimination, modelling and correction, the accurate relationship model of the consumed energy and ethylene product is constructed. According to the comprehensive energy consumption for unit ethylene product, the historical and future energy efficiency values of ethylene production are obtained by the built model. The effectiveness and practicality of the proposed method are demonstrated by applying in a practical ethylene production.
