Calculation and Analysis of Micro-Shock Energy of Line Maintenance Personnel in High Electric Field

During the maintenance of an overhead transmission line, some actions of the maintenance personnel may cause micro-shock if there is a running line nearby. In this study, an equivalent model is established for this phenomenon, and the values of capacitances in the model are solved by the finite element method. Taking the double-circuit lines on the same tower as an example, when one of the circuits is overhauled, the energy on the human body during the micro-shock process under several different conditions is calculated, and the degree of harm is analyzed based on the energy. The results indicate that when the line is directly contacted without any insulation measures, the maximum micro-shock energy on human body is 1.5mJ, which can cause unconscious reactions in the muscles, while wearing insulating shoes can effectively reduce the discharge current. As the line voltage increases, the hazard of micro-shock becomes greater. Among the three-phase wires, the micro-shock is most intense when the uppermost phase conductor is overhauled.
