The Design of a Control System for an Automated photovoltaic Power Pack

Due to electricity crises in South Africa, there is a need to design “free” energy and power source necessary to empower public areas like train station waiting areas, floor lights, parks, and malls of the country. Furthermore, the use of smart phones, notebooks and tablets by citizens has grown enormously and these gadgets demand power every day. In most places there are Wi-Fi but with no places to charge devices like phones and laptops. The aim is to design a control system for an Automated photo-voltaic (PV) solar Power pack for public use. This design aims to assist South African citizens in charging their mobile devices and to light their surroundings in public areas in places like train station and park, as some of these places are very dark at night and unsafe. The solar pack will not only help citizens in charging their mobile devices but also to light up their surrounding places at night. This design should enhance a two-dimensional rotating capability to facilitate sun tracking ability.
