In-Line Transmission Parameters Synchronization Protocol for Hitless Optical Coherent Communication

This paper proposes a protocol to share and synchronize transmission parameters between a transmitter and a receiver of two optical transponders to allow for hitless communication. It has been validated on a 100G real-time platform in terms of latency, adding only 12ns to packet round latency, and in terms of frame loss.
