EDM cutting for rapid prototyping of a PMBG

Over the last years, the materials manufacturing technology has been developing rapidly due to the high demand for new products or the requirements for optimization. Electrical machines are the spotlight of car production for full electric vehicle (EV), both for traction system and for auxiliary systems, especially in the production of electrical energy where the generators need to be more and more effective. In order to design and optimize the generators, professional software products are used. Before to produce the desired units in series, it is essential to create a prototype. This paper concludes the connection between the design of a PMG in JMAG-Designer and the steps to create a rapid prototype with the help of electrical discharge machine (EMD) AdieCharmilles FL240.
