The far infrared dielectric properties of conducting polymers

Dielectric properties of polypyrrole films in the FIR, 10–200 cm
¹
, are investigated. Control of these properties, in particular the conductivity, is achieved by changing the level of doping through oxidation-reduction during synthesis of the polymer. The dielectric constants of the conducting polymer films studied were found to exhibit a large frequency dependence in this spectral region.
