Experimental demonstration of a coherent receiver that visualizes longitudinal signal power profile over multiple spans out of its incoming signal

We propose and demonstrate the world's first class of coherent receiver that can recognize distance-wise instantaneous optical power throughout an end-to-end optical path. This in-situ power profile monitoring can simultaneously localize multiple anomaly points caused by unexpected optical losses.
