Optimization of two-stage carrier phase estimation for probabilistic shaping

The impact of probabilistic shaping (PS) on two-stage carrier phase estimation employing the blind phase search (BPS) and constellation transformation (CT) algorithms is investigated for PS-64QAM systems. With adequate adaption of BPS to the shaping, a single implementation of CT achieves shaping gains comparable to two-stage BPS.
