A Liquid Crystal Phase Modulation Technique Based on TFT-LCD Architecture

A liquid crystal phase modulation technique based on the conventional LCD display architecture is proposed in this study. On the basis of the conventional VA-mode LCD display, this technique achieves 1domain alignment by changing the design of the ITO metal electrode, skips RGB color filter process, and doubles the cell gap of the VA-mode LCD. This technique can realize dynamic phase modulation in the range of 0~2S , without the need to redesign or remake a dedicated driver chip or use FPGA for control.
