Research on Single-Phase Power Starts Three-Phase Asynchronous Motor by Thyristor Controlled Reactor

To solve the problem of difficult three-phase power supply in remote areas and to satisfy new power supply requirements in the condition of household appliances that will develop from single-phase motors to three-phase motors, it is of practical significance to provide cost-effective three-phase power in these places. This paper introduces a theoretical scheme of single-phase AC to three-phase AC, discusses the operating characteristics and control laws of TCR(thyristor controlled reactor) with continuous adjustable control, and combines the principle of single-phase to three-phase to construct a converter based on TCR. Finally, the feasibility of the converter to start the three-phase asynchronous motor was verified by simulation analysis.
