Portable Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave S-Band Radar System for Ranging Application

A portable frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system is designed at S band for ranging of moving target. The measured results for designed system components are shown and the specifications for radar system are given for S-band. The operating frequency of design FMCW radar is from 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz. The radar system is connected to a laptop using an audio cable to record the received data. The experimental data is also recorded and processed to get the range profile of a moving target. The finite impulse response (FIR) filter is used to improve the conventional two pulse clutter correction technique and results are also presented.
