Compact Fractal UWB EBG based Patch Antenna for Noninvasive Detection of Malignant Tissues

Due to the hazardous effects of invasive medical investigation techniques, numerous complications appear. To overcome across, the traditional imaging diagnosis of most critical diseases, non invasive high frequency techniques are on high versatility. The data sample capturing embedded devices, associated with the diagnosis system, depends upon a low profile, wide band, highly efficient and miniaturized antenna structure. This paper emphasizes on designing of a high frequency wideband antenna for non invasive detection of malignant tissues of cancer. The small structure antenna is fabricated on 21×18×l.6 mm

FR 4 material with relative dielectric profile of 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.02. Among the large dielectric profile of malignant and healthy tissue, the proposed antenna is highly feasible for vary large band. This article proposes a design of ultra wideband (UWB) antenna suitable for dielectric spectroscopy measurement system over the large or almost all possible radiations bands. It retrieves the effective dielectric profile of the varying properties of tissues in biological domain, depending upon the chemical composition of human anatomy. The designed structure is found resonating in wide range of frequency from 2.0 to 9.67 GHz. for suitable application of wireless Bluetooth communication (2.4 GHz), Wi-MAX (3.5/5.5 GHz), WLAN (5.2/5.8 GHz) and ISM(5.725/5.82 GHz).
