Towards the Design of Effective and Interactive Experience for Virtual Reality Videos

With the fast development of VR hardware, as well as the related technique support (e.g. 5th generation mobile networks), VR applications are getting popular in recent years. In this paper, we discuss and analyze the requirement and issues of the VR video playback, and proposed a VR video player design. We reported current VR video player design challenges and propose the possible design considerations and solutions. We then present the detailed design and implementation of video selection, preview and playback.
