MMSE Based Compressed Sensing Algorithms for Channel Estimation in VLC

Channel estimation is an important research area in a wireless communication system. The recent Compressed sensing (CS) theory, has a significant place in channel estimation. Most of the channel estimation algorithm uses the least square (LS) methods to solve the underdetermined system of equations. But in digital communication engineering, this introduces noise enhancement. This paper proposes, minimum mean square error (MMSE) based compressed sensing (CS) algorithms to overcome the noise enhancement problem. Simulation results show that MMSE based methods have significant improvements over LS methods at higher SNR.
