CPW-Fed Pentagonal Superwideband Fractal Antenna

A new compact circle circumscribed pentagonal fractal antenna for superwideband applications is presented in this paper. It comprises third iterative circle circumscribed pentagonal radiator, coplanar waveguide feeding and asymmetrical ground planes. The simulated bandwidth is 3.6-36.2 GHz (i.e 32.6 GHz) and 3.5-37 GHz (33.5GHz) for Ansoft HFSS and CST MWS respectively. The overall dimensions of proposed antenna are 28x27x1.6 mm3. It has peak gain of 8.05 dBi. The proposed antenna has advantages of miniaturized size and wider bandwidth over previously reported structures.
