Numerical Models of Heat Conductivity of Composite Systems

A method of computer simulation of the effective thermal conductivity of a unit cell of a composite system (CS) based on polymers has been developed. A review of methods for calculating the effective thermal conductivity of binary CSs is presented. The factors affecting the effective thermal conductivity of CSs are described, including the distribution of the filler in the matrix, the model of thermal conductivity in the interfacial layer, and the intermolecular thermal conductivity of polymers. Algorithms for obtaining the distribution of the filler in the matrix are proposed.. Experimental data of the effective thermal conductivity of composites based on polyethylene and polyamide with a filler of carbide particles of various dispersion are presented Based on the experiment and simulation, the thermal resistance of the interfacial layer was estimated. The use of developed software for scientific and educational purposes is demonstrated.
