Power Efficient 4D-8PSK Trellis Coded Modulation(TCM) Decoder for Wireless Application

In this paper a new approach of digital communication system, The 4D8 PSK TCM Encoder Decoder design is presented. TCM encoder and decoder have been implemented as per specification given Consultative Committee for Space Data System (CCSDS) for satellite application. Encoder implementation is straight forward but in Decoder part most complex blocks involved. Among these blocks TMU unit and VD are most complex and consume more power.In this paper a new approach of ACSU unit implementation and simulation is presented. Adopted architecture shows better performance in the device utilization and power consumption of system.
