Testing and analysis of battery wear characteristics

The custom designed, developed and assembled, industrial grade, PC based experimental testbench device, presented in this paper, is designated to perform pre-configured battery tests automatically, in order to asses the quality and lifecycle expectancy of different battery types and brands. Test settings can be given using a detailed discharge curve specification (DCP). The results of the tests are given as a set of parameters and graphs that characterize the useable capacity of a certain battery as a device under test (DUT) using the defined conditions.
