Increase the power-to-weight ratio of induction machines by increasing their operating temperature

In this paper, current density-based optimization of the high temperature cage induction machine is proposed. Thermal and analytic sizing models are designed. Simulation results are presented to show the variation of the power-to-weight ratio, the efficiency and temperature in different locations of machine.
