Design and Development of an Earthquake Emergency Coordinating Consultation System Based on GIS

In view of the characteristics of a major earthquake in need of multi-sectoral collaborative disposal, this paper designed an earthquake emergency system for multi-user consultation simulation system based on GIS technology, computer technology, modern communications technology, focusing on the design of the plotting coordinating plotting, text coordinating and file coordinating based on the common operation picture. A prototype system was developed to research Ya'an Lushan earthquake. The experimental result shows that the collaborative consultation system is smooth and efficient in the wide area network.
