A stress induced crystallinity model under the microinjection molding process

In microinjection molding process, the accurate coupling between the dynamic multi-flow and crystallization kinetics is one of the challenging task, in term to predict accurately the evolution of the main characteristic processing parameters. Interestingly, the melt behaves differently in a micro-scale from the macro-scale. Capillary effect, conservative biphasic flow and the interfacial heat resistance between melt and mold are to consider for ensuring a reliable simulation. This paper aims to analyze the effect of a quiescent and stress induced crystallinity models. Results show that the stress-induced crystallinity predicts the formation of the skin layer during the mold-filling phase, the quiescent model seems to be insufficient to predict the material solidification during the mold-filling phase.
