The Development of 2D Animation to Educate Young Female Adolescent in Puberty Changes

The purpose of this research is to develop a 2D animation to educate young female adolescent from 8-14 years of age about their puberty changes. The animation functions as a learning media that enhances target audience's understanding of their own body's nature and instructs on how to be aware and deal with situations that could lead to sexual abuse as well. The study included research on 2D animation production and puberty changes in female adolescent. With the co-ordination of health education specialist in high school, the media main content was analyzed and proved to be accurate and appropriated for young female adolescent. Research population was chosen by using the specified criteria, a female schoolgirl within the age of 8-14 years old. After the production was completed, the animation was used as an instructional material in a high school health education class. The media was later evaluated by female audience. The results indicated that most audience found the information that given through the media to be clear, simple enough to understand and practical while some had a suggestion on voice recording and sound editing improvement.
