Sandia Frequency Shift Method for Anti-Islanding Protection of a Gridtied Photovoltaic System

Emerging trends and technologies employed in Electrical power system is providing better power quality and peak load demand service to the end users. In which Distributed generations are taking a bulk and much important part from recent few decades. In the protection era Anti Islanding remained a key technical challenge since the concept of micro grid was introduced in Electrical power system and end consumers started to synch their own distributed generations in active networks. There are multiple islanding detection methods suggested by different researchers and literatures. This paper gives a brief classification and review on the active and passive methods and focusses on Sandia Frequency shift scheme, working, methodology and its advantages. Simulation for the same has been done on a grid tied solar photovoltaic distributed generations in MATLAB environment and results are graphically expressed.
