Non-Isolated DC/DC Buck/Boost Converters for Off-Grid Hybrid Renewable System

DC-DC converters are being widely used in power electronics in applications such as electric vehicles, renewable energy systems and portable electronic devices. A great deal of research into new topologies and increased efficiency of current technologies is continually ongoing. In this paper the DC-DC power conversion in an Off-Grid Hybrid Energy Renewable System will be investigated. The system has a maximum output power of 500W with a 24V battery bank giving a maximum current of 21A. This paper is a brief review of some of the available technologies which could be used to construct the system.
