Uncovering Reflection Insensitive Semiconductor Lasers for Silicon Photonic Integration

We report on two recent high performance semiconductor lasers made with the silicon photonic platform. Both structures display a quasi complete reflection insensitivity, resulting in a key attribute for the development of isolator-free integrated technologies.
