Modelling and Simulation of a Single Effect Solar Absorption Cooling System H2O-LiBr

The production of cold from solar energy is a relevant and interesting process as the need of cooling is high when the sun radiates highly. In this work we study an absorption machine that restores the thermal energy produced by a plane solar collector, to produce the cold. Hence it is necessary to master the modeling of the absorption group by establishing mass and energy balance equations between various specific points of the cycle. In addition, the thermodynamic properties of the water-lithium bromide pair must be studied to solve these equations. The main objective is to be able to finally size different elements of the absorption machine. This is achieved by using a solver based on Matlab/ Simulink.
