Current status of research on power-frequency electric and magnetic fields of research

The evidence relating prolonged power-frequency electric and magnetic field exposure to cancer in human populations is examined. It is based on an assessment of the research literature in the areas of epidemiological evidence, animal studies, cellular effects, and knowledge of mechanisms. It is concluded that the evidence for exposure to power-frequency electric and magnetic fields as a cause of cancer is not persuasive, and that any such relationship remains questionable.<
