Optimal Capacity Configuration of Railway Power Conditioner Based on Probability Method

Railway power conditioners are widely used to mitigate the adverse effects of traction loads on the utility grid, especially in terms of three-phase imbalance. In many studies, the optimization function is usually used to solve the objective function of the designed power conditioner optimal capacity to obtain the optimal capacity value, and then corrected by random simulation. Due to the strong randomness of the traction load, there is currently no easier way to solve the optimal capacity of the power conditioner. This paper firstly analyzes the application scenario and typical wiring mode of the power regulator, then proposes the capacity configuration strategy of the power regulator based on the probabilistic load model. According to the national standard limit of the voltage three-phase unbalance, the formulas for solving the optimal capacity in different wiring modes are given. Finally, Monte Carlo simulation verification and comparison of measured data show that the proposed method has high accuracy and effectiveness. These methods have a positive significance for the reasonable determination of the installation capacity of the railway power conditioner.
