Distribution network planning considering offshore wind-tide-virtual energy storage system

A virtual energy storage system (VESS) is proposed in this paper based on the virtual power plant (VPP) concept to integrate, regulate, coordinate, and optimize all manner of distributed energy storage facilities. In order to make full use of all kinds of marine energy, reduce the fluctuation of power output, and reduce the power-free time of single energy generation, a combined output model of offshore wind-tide-virtual energy storage system is constructed. The effectiveness of the model is proven by simulation analysis. The influence of the offshore wind-tide-virtual energy storage system on the distribution network structure is preliminarily investigated. The results presented here may demonstrate the advantages of the combined output model and improvements to energy efficiency.
